Accounting Intern

Mr. Handyman is happy to offer a full-time paid internship to one accounting student or recent graduate! Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, small business environment where your input will make a difference. We will walk you through the ins and outs of running a business, using accounting services and platforms, and more.

Internship Length: 4 months (this can be adjusted based on your program needs)

Wage: $15-16 an hour

Location: Hybrid (Northeast Calgary office and remote, as circumstances allow)

Responsibilities:

*       Assist in organizing and inputting financial data into QuickBooks, including expenses, revenues, and other transactions.

*       Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.

*       Support in preparing and maintaining financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.

*       Assist with budget tracking and expense categorization.

*       Participate in end-of-month and end-of-year financial closing processes.

Qualifications:

*       Must be either;

o  Currently enrolled in a full time, degree seeking program with a focus in accounting or related field, in your 4th year,

o  Or have recently graduated in an accounting or related field.

*       Proficient with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

*       Highly motivated and dependable

*       Ability to set priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

*       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
